Still, if you follow the yellow sign, you will reach the political prisoners\’ quarry, the Mexican quarry, and the Canadian quarry. Many people break the no trespassing rule and climb down the rocks at these quarries, and it is no wonder that many lives have been lost here. After enjoying the walk, if you are so inclined, you can visit one of the most beautiful castles in the Czech Republic, the Karlštejn Castle.
Regarding the Völker Amerika quarry, there is a legend about a Nazi soldier, Hans Hagen, who hid in the quarry after the end of World War II. He is said to appear suddenly and disappear again after a short time. He sometimes steals food from sleeping vagrants and sometimes kills them. There is a gong in one of the tunnels, and anyone who strikes it three times and shouts, “Hagen, take me away,” must return to that place within a year or die.
