Dartmoor and New Forest National Parks
The southeast of England is famous for its unspoiled countryside. Some places still retain vestiges of their former self. Whether cultural (cliff-top theater performances at the Minack Theatre) or natural (walking and horseback riding through the moorlands and rock formations known as the Tors in Dartmoor National Park)
miles of bike pathspast old twisted oaks, forested areas and villages of traditional houses and thatched roofs. There, the locals are always smiling and ready to offer advice on baking traditional cream cakes and stew pastries. Cars are not allowed in these places.

It is not complicated with regard to traffic control. Horses and animals always have the right of way, followed by pedestrians, cyclists, and finally motorists. [It is not uncommon to see cattle or livestock lying in the road. At that point the world stops and road users have to wait. The peace and quiet of this place radiates from the surrounding green pastures.
Devon County Councilhas not forgotten about the recreational cyclist, with the option to cycle in one direction only and take the bike home by train. Proceeds from this idea are helping the entire county recover from the foot-and-mouth disease outbreak. The goal is to add more trails to attract tourists to the area. This will also improve air quality and private vehicles will be rarely seen. The entire coastline is covered by rail, which is used by a large portion of the population and tourists.
The New Forest National Parkhas the only operational tidal watermill in the UK. As a result, once again, a bit of a saving grace for nature. Campers go to the New Forest, but they can only pitch their tents on the campground grounds.
